Hailing from the rainy roots of Hertfordshire, just north of London, UK, Letisha's musical journey has been one of experience, growth and a deep commitment to empowering women through her art.
From an early age, Letisha was immersed in a rich tapestry of musical styles, drawing inspiration from iconic artists like Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Bruno Mars, and Whitney Houston. These influences, combined with her love for Contemporary R&B, have shaped her distinctive sound, which also incorporates a touch of lounge jazz, adding a sophisticated and timeless quality.
Before stepping into the spotlight as a solo artist, Letisha honed her vocal skills and stage presence through over 10 years of experience as a backing vocalist for numerous reggae and Lovers Rock artists, including esteemed names like Carroll Thompson and Janet Kay. This experience developed her ear and ability to harmonize decorating the voices of leading artists on stage.
Letisha's dedication to her craft led her to pursue a Higher Diploma in Vocals at London's prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP). It was there that she had the opportunity to learn from renowned hit songwriter Ralph Murphy, who shared invaluable wisdom about the art of crafting songs that resonate deeply with listeners. This experience ignited a fire within her, inspiring her to focus on writing music that not only entertains, but resonates. ICMP recognized Letisha's talent and invited her to perform as a special guest at their end-of-year showcase in Camden, a place steeped in musical history and the former home of soul singer Amy Winehouse.
Now, Letisha is ready to share her own voice with the world as she expresses her raw emotions of finding love and passion, through to heartache and a shattered romance in 5 moving tracks, her EP titled âSnapshotâ.
